COMMENTS
Comments:  During the years 1826-1829, Dumont d'Urville commanded the corvette "L'Astrolabe" (the former "La Coquille") in the Pacific Ocean. Off the coast of the Vanikoro island (Solomon islands in Melanesia), he found some remains of the shipwreck of La Pérouse.
