Short summary:  Complaining that his medicine, based on muriat of gold, does not give any results in Paris whereas it has been tested successfully by himself in Montpellier and by other physicians in Hamburg, Stockholm, Belgium and New York. He hopes that new experiments will be done, and forwards the technique used by his own chemist for the production of the preparation, as well as some muriat prepared by this chemist for comparison.

Comments:  Addressed to M. Pérignon (?) (See fol. 3b: "Veuillés, je vous prie, présenter à Mde Pérignon (?) mes hommages respectueux...". Note by the addressee on fol. 1a. Foll. 5 and 6 (marked 3 and 4) seem to be independant from the rest of the letter, and addressed to the physicians in Paris, who did not get any result with Chrestien's muriat of gold, to encourage them to experiment this medicine once again.
